Portobello beach yet only 3.5 miles to the city centre.
Portobello is a small self contained town with local
shops, recreation facilities, restaurants and food outlets.
Buses run every 5 mins from in front of the house to
the centre of Edinburgh although they are less frequent
in the evening and on Sundays.

A shuttle bus runs from
the airport to the city centre and costs £3.50
single, £5 open return. For more details see FlyByBus.
The cost of a direct taxi varies according
to the time of day, approximately £18 - £25.
Local firm can be pre booked at a fixed rate of £17
(see Portobello Hire Cars tel: 0131 669 2323). Once
in the centre, the 26 bus (red) leaves from Jenners
on Princes Street to Portobello every 5 mins until 7pm
after which it becomes less frequent.
